Trying to know more about GW Tournament

I sold my Sailfish and am now eyeing a smaller boat like the 2005-2007 Tournament 225, but most are on the East Coast and thats a long tow for sure. Does it come with electronic shift, or was that an add on? I havent found clear info like anywhere. Would appreciate hearing from owners about any quirks or maintenance issues, like if the fuel tank needs replacing after a while. thanks

I've seen a few Tournament 225s, the electronic shift wasn't standard, more of an upgrade or dealer install and the fuel tank's a known issue on older ones, so check for signs of corrosion or soft spots

true. for the 2005-2007 models, it was definitely not standard and was usually an add on or specific to higher horsepower/newer engines, even if available
Most Grady Whites in that range and year would still have mechanical throttle and shift cables
You'd typically only see electronic controls (like Yamaha's DEC) on larger, more expensive boats or if someone did a repower with a newer engine generation. Always check photos of the helm for the binnacle type

Yep, Grady Whites from 2005 to 2007 usually had mechanical cable controls. Electronic throttles weren't common back then, you'd mostly see them on fancier models or boats that had been upgraded. Just a heads up, always peek at the helm pics and double-check those engine controls before you make your decision.
