Fuel tank replacement

Got a 2003 Grady-White Gulfstream and thinking about replacing the fuel tanks before any issues pop up. anyone else gone through this? When did you replace yours? Thanks!

I know a few owners replace theirs around the 20-year mark, especially if they noticed fuel smells. If yours are original, now's a smart time to check for signs of wear or pitting. It's a big job, but worth doing before problems start, especially on older Gulfstreams where access can be tight.

A friend of mine had a 2004 Gulfstream, and he decided to replace the tanks after they started smelling like fuel at the 18-year mark. He told me it was a hassle, but totally worth it,he nipped the corrosion in the bud before it became a leak. It's smart to tackle these issues while they're still under control

Totally agree with getting ahead of tank issues before they turn into something major. I replaced mine around the 15-year mark and saw the same early signs. The labor's not fun, but peace of mind is worth it. especially if you keep the boat long-term like me.
